K Vintners Motor City Kitty Syrah
What can I say about Charles Smith of K Vintners? That
he´s crazy like a fox? That he makes outstanding Syrah?
That he has longer hair than mine? All true, especially
the middle claim, which is sort of the point. This Syrah is a
mailing list-only goodie (only two barrels made) that combines ALL his
vineyard sources into one wine, and gives it extra barrel age.
1997 Brian Carter Solesce
Brian Carter has been around for about as long as there´s been a
real wine industry in Washington. He´s the winemaker for
Apex, Washington Hills and Bridgman wineries; this is his personal
blend. He made about 40 cases of this winery-only release.
The 98 is slightly more readily available.
