December 2005 Washington Wine Club
Morrison Lane 33 1/3
I just love going on my yearly Thanksgiving weekend trip to Walla Walla and finding
goodies like this! This imaginative blend from Dean and Verdie Morrison is 1/3 each
Counoise, Viognier, and Syrah - a truly unusual combination. Dean, a serious jazz
bassist, couldn´t resist naming it for his (and my) favorite recorded music format,
and I can´t resist selling it at the same price: $33.33. It´s ready to
drink with decanting.
2003 Betz Family Winery La Cote Rousse Syrah
This is this year´s installment of Bob Betz´s Red Mountain Syrah.
As usual, it´s outstanding, and outstandingly cellarable. We have a bit more
of this at $48.00, as well as it´s companion Syrah, La Serenne. We´ve
put this one in last year as well; enjoy the vertical!
