October 2006 Washington Wine Club
2004 Betz La Serenne and La Cote Rousse Syrahs
Wow. Every year, I put these wines in this club. They
are among the best from Washington State, and they're getting harder to come by as the
wines increase in popularity nationwide. They are absolute powerhouses, and will
hold and improve for at least five more years in your cellar. La Cote Rousse is
entirely from Red Mountain fruit, from Ciel du Cheval and Scott Williams vineyards.
The La Serenne comes from Dick Boushey's vineyard, and is somewhat softer. Both
wines are absolutely gorgeous. We have small amounts left of both, along with a
couple of magnums of each. Enjoy!
